Industrial Wet Scrubber Products
Venturi Wet Scrubber

The Sly Venturi Scrubber efficiently collects fine particulate and mists. Scrubbing liquid is atomized into fine droplets. Adjustable throats for performance optimization are standard. Capacities to 76,000+ CFM per unit.
Designs are available for high-temperature, highly corrosive applications. Venturis can be coupled with Impinjet scrubbers to achieve maximum efficiencies.
Eductor Wet Scrubber

Eductor scrubbers are designed to remove soluble gases and particulate matter by inducing a gas flow using a high-pressure liquid focused into a venturi throat. They can also be used for direct-contact condensation.
A high liquid flow rate makes the Sly eductor particularly appropriate for collecting sticky and/or gummy particulates and gases that decompose upon contact with water, such as SiCl4 and H2SiF6.
Packed Tower Wet Scrubber

Packed tower scrubbers (also known as packed bed or packed column scrubbers) are designed to chemically scrub contaminants from gas streams.
Internal packing in the scrubber housing provides a large wetted surface area to induce intimate contact between the contaminated gas and the scrubbing liquid.

FRP Wet Scrubbers

Sly FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) Wet Scrubbers offer a practical and durable solution for capturing and neutralizing hazardous components from industrial exhaust gases before their release into the atmosphere. The composite materials used for FRP wet scrubbers provide both chemical and UV resistance. Although all Sly wet scrubbers can be fabricated from FRP, only packed towers are offered to capture gases.
FRP scrubbers efficiently capture or absorb chemicals such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and acidic, alkaline, and corrosive gases. The compounds are neutralized to protect the workforce environment and equipment from corrosion. The corrosion-resistant property alone makes FRP wet scrubbers especially suited to operations involving aggressive chemicals at different humidity levels.
FRP scrubbers are used throughout a wide range of industrial applications to absorb corrosive and hazardous gas compounds or mitigate nuisance odors.

Getting Started with Wet Scrubbers
The first step to getting the best wet scrubbing system possible is knowing what your application needs. This resource details everything you need to know about wet scrubbers and how to make the right selection for your facility.
Wet Scrubbers Buyer’s Guide
Wet scrubbers can tackle tough air pollution control challenges that dry dust collectors can’t. Certain scenarios all but demand a wet scrubber. But how you do decide what wet scrubber is best for you and what supplier to use?
Wet Scrubber Handbook
Wet scrubbers are unique pieces of dust collection equipment, allowing businesses to improve their air quality through the impingement process. Using a scrubbing liquid to remove harmful pollutants from your air, wet scrubbers are perfect for applications with light dust loadings, wet or sticky particulates, vapor and gases, and combustible dust. To help you get the perfect wet scrubber for your facility’s needs, the experts at Sly created our new Wet Scrubber Handbook. This info-packed handbook contains helpful information regarding all of your wet scrubber needs.
FAQs – Industrial Wet Scrubbers
What types of wet scrubber systems does Sly offer?
Sly provides several types of wet scrubbers – including Impinjet® plate/tray scrubbers, Venturi scrubbers, Eductor scrubbers, Packed Tower scrubbers, and fully engineered assemblies. Each design targets specific needs such as particulate removal, gas absorption, cooling, and corrosive exhaust, and we help match the right type to your process conditions
How do wet scrubbers remove contaminants from industrial exhaust?
Wet scrubbers use a liquid (often water or a chemical solution) to capture airborne pollutants. Particulates and gases contact the liquid via mechanisms such as impingement plates, high-velocity Venturi mixing, suction induction, or packed beds. Pollutants are absorbed or entrained in the liquid, leaving cleaner air to be exhausted.
What applications are best suited for wet scrubbers versus dry dust collectors?
Wet scrubbers excel at controlling acid gases, vapors, sticky particulates, high humidity, and corrosive exhaust streams. Dry collectors like baghouses are ideal for dry, free-flowing dust. In many industrial processes, a dry collector + wet scrubber combination delivers complete particulate and gas control, and Sly can engineer integrated systems.
Can wet scrubbers help meet environmental and regulatory requirements?
Yes. Properly specified wet scrubbers are designed to help facilities meet local, state, and federal emissions standards for particulates and gas-phase pollutants. Sly engineers scrubbers with performance targets in mind and can support compliance and reporting documentation.
What does maintenance look like for a wet scrubber system?
Routine maintenance includes inspecting nozzles and spray headers, checking packing media or trays, monitoring liquid levels, and ensuring pumps and controls are operating properly. Sly provides aftermarket support, including parts, service, and performance troubleshooting, to help minimize downtime and protect system longevity.
How do I know which wet scrubber configuration is right for my facility?
Start by identifying your gas stream chemistry, temperature, particulate load, and moisture content. Sly’s engineers can evaluate your process and recommend a scrubber design and materials of construction (e.g., FRP, carbon steel, alloys) that optimize performance and corrosion resistance.
