Legacy Dust Collectors
Rely on Sly to Maintain Your Legacy Dust Collector.
Sly Legacy Dust Collectors
Before 1990, all Sly dust collectors used an envelope-style filter bag. Many long-time Sly customers still operate our durable and reliable Dynaclones, Pactecons, and Shaker-cleaned dust collectors.
TubeJet collectors (pulse-cleaned styles with tubular style bags) surpassed the envelope style dust collectors due to their flexibility to handle many applications, ease of customization, ability to clean online on a 24/7 basis, and their lower operating pressure drop. As the Tube-Jet dust collector has become the new standard over the years, Sly has continued to support replacement part business for our legacy models. Sly’s aftermarket and engineering staff retain significant experience and knowledge about the vintage equipment.
While the legacy models are no longer marketed as new equipment, Sly can occasionally offer duplicate construction for those customers who have come to rely on these models and have circumstances requiring an “in-kind” replacement. Our aftermarket staff is ready and can offer assistance on parts and maintenance to keep your legacy Sly dust collectors running like new.

PleatJet™ Vertical Cartridge Dust Collector

Energy-saving features such as “on-demand” pressure cleaning, low-pressure drops, and a large selection of media specific to the requirements are only a few advantages.
The specially engineered “Opti-Pulse” cartridge cleaning system maximizes energy release, providing more uniform cleaning over the cartridge surface area, including the top of the cartridge. Cleaning the cartridges only when necessary and not continuously translates into energy savings and extended cartridge life.

Pactecon

Sly Pactecon collectors were designed for low headroom applications and offered side bag removal without entering the filter housing. Sly’s PC-100 Series offered one tier of filter bags, and the PC-200 Series offered two tiers of filter bags. In either model, the filters are arranged in “cells.” The off-line cleaning system takes one cell off-line at a time and cleans it with a lower pressure, higher volume of cleaning air than a typical on-line cleaning pulse jet collector. PC-100-4 and PC-200-4 units contain 8 bags per cell,l and PC-100-6, and PC-200-6 units contain twelve bags per cell. Common replacement parts include envelope filter bags, bag hardware including spacers, eyebolts, springs, front and back mullions, diaphragm valves, solenoid valves, timer boards, gaskets, doors, blowers, fans, rotary valves, and screw conveyors.
Dynaclone

The Dynaclone filter uses a continuous, gentle reverse air process to clean the bags via a heavy-duty bag-cleaning traveler in the clean air plenum. Type “A” Dynaclones have 3 tiers of bags, and type “B” Dynaclones have 2 tiers of bags. While the cleaning process utilizes a reverse air process, which takes a portion of the bags offline during cleaning, there is no interruption of operation as the cleaning arm travels back and forth. Common replacement parts for a Dynaclone include envelope filter bags, bag hardware including spacers, eyebolts, springs, front and back mullions; multi-seal and roll-clean traveler parts; gaskets, doors, blowers, fans, rotary valves, and screw conveyors.
Shaker-Cleaned Dust Collector

Sly’s envelope-style shaker collectors were designed for applications where periodic off-line cleaning was practical. The dust would deposit on the outside surface of the bags, and intermittent shaking would dislodge the dust when the system fan was shut down. A Type 360 Shaker had three tiers of bags and a Type 260 Shaker had 2 tiers of bags. Common shaker replacement parts include envelope filter bags, bag hardware including spacers, eyebolts, springs, front and back mullions; shaker cleaning motors and parts, gaskets, doors, blowers, fans, rotary valves, and screw conveyors.
