Fabricación de chapas metálicas a medida

Sly operates a custom sheet metal, structural fabrication, and assembly shop in Mathiston, Mississippi (North Central Area). The plant has over 70,000 square feet, including over 25,000 square feet of high bay space equipped with 10-ton cranes allowing 18 feet below the hook.

Sly offers flexibility in its dust equipment that other manufacturers can’t match. That’s because we don’t outsource our manufacturing, including the fabrication of metal. Our agile approach to manufacturing in-house provides our customers the benefit of working with a single source supplier.

Sly’s machine shop is equipped with a metal forming press brake, roller, turret lathes, milling machines, drills, grinders and more. Our product manufacturing and custom fabrication of metals occurs on site. The shop is capable of providing fabrication from 14 gauge to 3/8″ thick carbon steel, abrasion-resistant steel, stainless steel, and other high-alloy materials (e.g., Inconel, Hasteloy, AL6XN).

Shear Capacity: Up to 1/2″ thick x 10 ft.
Brake Capacity: Up to 3/8″ thick x 10 ft.
Rolling Capacity: Up to 3/8″ thick x 6 ft.
CNC Plasma Cutting: 6 ft. x 12 ft. Bed Size
Structural Saw Capacity: 16′ x 16″
Structural Punch Capacity: 1″ dia. x 1/2″ thick plate
Metal Preparation: Grit blasting up to SPCC-SP10
Painting/Coatings: Conventional and airless

All Sly welders are certified AWS Structural Welding Code for D1.1 (structural steel), D1.3 (sheet metal), and D1.6 (stainless steel), and we have certified welding inspectors on staff.

Our welding specifications are available upon request.

FAQs – Sheet Metal Fabrication

What types of custom sheet metal fabrication services does Sly provide?

Sly offers full custom sheet metal fabrication for industrial applications, including housings, ductwork, transition pieces, liners, and replacement parts. We work with carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and specialty alloys to deliver solutions that meet your exact specifications and process requirements.

How does custom fabrication support Sly’s dust collection and wet scrubber systems?

Custom fabrication ensures that every component, from collector housings to duct transitions, access doors, clean-outs, and supports, fits precisely and performs reliably. This improves system efficiency, reduces leaks, and speeds installation compared to off-the-shelf components.

Why choose Sly for custom industrial sheet metal fabrication instead of a general fabricator?

Sly pairs metal fabrication expertise with deep air pollution control engineering knowledge. We don’t just cut and bend metal; we design parts to withstand abrasion, corrosion, pressure, and thermal stress specific to dust collectors and wet scrubber environments.

Can Sly produce replacement or retrofit parts for existing systems?

Yes. Sly fabricates replacement parts, retrofit components, and upgrades for both Sly and third-party systems. This includes hoppers, cones, liners, mounting flanges, doors, and other critical parts to extend equipment life and improve performance.

What information do I need to provide for a custom fabrication quote?

To generate a quote, we typically ask for:

  • Drawings or sketches
  • Material type and thickness
  • Dimensions and tolerances
  • Surface finish or coating requirements
  • Quantity needed

If needed, our team can help develop or refine specifications before providing a quote.

How does custom fabrication impact installation timelines and system performance?

Custom fabrication improves both. Parts built to specification reduce field modifications and rework, accelerate installation schedules, and ensure better sealing, alignment, and airflow performance, leading to higher system efficiency and lower long-term costs.
